Google+ Widget is written in JavaScript and jQuery, using the JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) data-interchange format, the Yahoo! Query Language (YQL), the HTML5 postMessage method and the Google+ API.
Google+ Widget is served from Google App Engine, Google's infrastructure, to ensure good performance and reliability of service.
It has been developed as a week-end hack by Florian Bersier, a DPhil (read PhD) student at the Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford, UK. The widget's logo has been designed by Corbin Marc Hesse.

Google+ Widget uses the Google+ API to retrieve your public posts, full name and profile picture. Google+ widget neither stores any of your information nor shares aggregate statistics about your Google+ activity with publishers, app developers, or connected sites.
